The International Cryptographic Module Conference (ICMC24)

GLOBAL LEADERS CONVENE TO COUNTER NEW THREATS, REVIEW CERTIFICATION GOALS

ICMC will build on a decade of cybersecurity thought leadership as the industry faces widespread changes and emerging threats in commercial cryptography. Post-quantum algorithms are finally here and now the real work of implementation begins. The new FIPS 140-3 standard continues its rollout as the single accepted certification for secure cryptographic modules. Simultaneously, European regulators are moving forward with a wide range of related cybersecurity standards. Efforts to maintain the security of open-source solutions continue apace. New approaches to entropy are coming, and the promise of homomorphic cryptography lies ahead.

Through our partnership with ICMC WISP members can receive 20% off using WISP code: WISP20

DEF CON 32

Originally started in 1993, it was meant to be a party for members of "Platinum Net", a Fido protocol-based hacking network out of Canada. As the main U.S. hub I was helping the Platinum Net organizer (I forget his name) plan a closing party for all the member BBS systems and their users. He was going to shut down the network when his dad took a new job and had to move away. We talked about where we might hold it, when all of a sudden he left early and disappeared. I was just planning a party for a network that was shut down, except for my U.S. nodes. I decided what the hell, I'll invite the members of all the other networks my BBS (A Dark Tangent System) system was a part of including Cyber Crime International (CCI), Hit Net, Tired of Protection (ToP), and like 8 others I can't remember. Why not invite everyone on #hack? Good idea!

WISP & Google Present 'Tell Your Story' Workshop

WISP & Google Present 'Tell Your Story' Workshop

Women in Security and Privacy (WISP), together with Google, are proud to present ‘Tell Your Story’- a Workshop that is focused on helping women and under-represented minorities maximize the impact of sponsorship through the power of storytelling.

What is a ‘Tell Your Story’ Workshop?

If you can build your own story that is simple, concise, and - most importantly -repeatable, others can repeat your story for you. This is particularly powerful, so sponsors know what to say about you to their network.

In this in-person two-hour session, you will learn how to craft a strong story to boost your career development - and learn about the power of sponsorship and why it's so important for getting ahead.

Over the evening, you will:

1. Learn storytelling skills and frameworks

2. Identify your own ‘origin’ story that is simple, concise, and repeatable

3. Get real-time and actionable feedback from peers in the group

4. Practice and identify potential sponsors who can elevate your work

'Tell Your Story' receives high ratings from participants, with 94% saying the workshop is worth their time, with facilitators scoring an even higher favorability score of 97% favorable.
